Establishing consistency through systems is less exciting than setting lofty goals but without systems you can’t meet your goals.
For instance, if a writer’s goal is to write a book, he should establish a routine of writing 1 hour a day. If a runner’s goal is to complete a marathon, the system established would be to run a set distance consistently every day. If the goal is to have a successful business then there needs to be a system implemented to acquire clients and close sales. The goal to lose 50 pounds might seem overwhelming so instead establish a system that allows you to lose 1-2 pounds a week.
Don’t let big goals bog you down. Goal setting is great for planning where you want to end up but proper systems carried out systematically will get you to the finish line.
